Bronze - this is the most basic membership and permits you only to post messages to the forums. Bronze membership is free of charge and requires your name and e-mail address.
Silver - in addition to the Bronze membership benefits, this allows you to post your story onto the site and assign it to conditions which in turn lets others find and contact you. When they do contact you, you will receive an e-mail in your regular e-mail inbox which you can reply to. Your e-mail address will not be revealed to the other member unless you do it yourself. Silver membership is free of charge and was formerly called Basic membership.
Gold - in addition to the Silver membership benefits, this allows you to contact Silver or Gold members securely and without revealing your e-mail address. You are able to start a conversation with five different members each day. Gold membership costs £5 per year and was formerly called Enhanced membership. To become a Gold member, sign up as a Silver member and upgrade yourself once registered.

The minimum we require is your name and e-mail address. Neither will be revealed as all MakingContact.org members use unique usernames. If you want to just use the forums go for Bronze membership. To allow others to find you on this site go for Silver.

To save room on the page we use the term disabled to indicate those with disabilities, special need or a medical condition.

*Username:
This will be how you are known within MakingContact.org. Your real name will be hidden so all other members will see you listed by this username. It must be between 6 and 12 characters. We advise you don't use your real name as this will be visible to any site visitor.

*Password:
Must be between 6 and 12 characters and contain at least one number. We recommend you do not use names of people or places.

*Confirm Password:
Please enter your chosen password again. An e-mail will be sent to your registered address confirming it.

*Real Name:
This will only ever be visible to Contact a Family staff and then only for administration purposes.

*E-mail address:
We need a valid e-mail address, this will not be given out to anyone unless you do it. This address will be the one through which people will contact you from this site. Also any password reminders etc. will be sent here. We will never give, sell or reveal this address to anybody. Other members sending you messages will not know the address they are sending to unless you reveal it.
Silver/Gold membership
About the disabled person: This person may be your child, grandchild, friend or even yourself. The details listed here will be what people search on, so as much info as you can provide will help.

Their date of birth:
Their date of birth will enable users to locate people with similar aged children. Their exact date of birth will not be revealed, instead we will show only the year of their birth on public screens.
